Write tasks as observable next actions

A useful assignment says what someone can do and finish. Replace ‘work on the property’ with ‘replace the west gate latch’ or ‘confirm the pump model before ordering.’ Keep one owner beside each current action.

  • Use a verb at the start
  • Name the job or physical location
  • Record the material or access detail
  • Separate blocked work from work the crew can do

Run a short start-of-day review

Choose the work that can move today, assign its owner, and identify missing materials or decisions. Leave future and blocked tasks in Backlog instead of filling the day's sheet with work nobody can start.

  • Backlog: waiting, blocked, or future
  • Active: expected to move today
  • Complete: finished and reviewed

Move the template into Turnboards when the list must travel

Create a board for the job, route, or workday. Add each current action as a work item, assign the crew member, and keep handoff details in notes. The shared mobile list can then be updated away from the paper copy, including during temporary connection loss.

What Turnboards does—and does not do

Turnboards is a fast shared work list with boards, assignments, notes, due dates, offline updates, and Backlog, Active, and Complete statuses. It does not provide automated recurring checklists, photo-proof reports, invoicing, employee scheduling, GPS tracking, or formal inspection records.

Put the next job on one clear board

Try Turnboards free. Create a board, add three real work items, and invite the person who needs the list next.
