Turnboards FAQ

Clear answers about boards, organizations, assignments, offline work, notes, and getting started with Turnboards.

What is Turnboards?

Turnboards is a simple work management app for people who want to create tasks quickly, organize them by board, and move work through a clear General or industry-specific workflow without a heavy setup process.

Who is Turnboards for?

Turnboards is built for individuals, small businesses, trades, farms, service organizations, shops, non-profits, and small teams that need a fast place to capture and assign work.

How are boards different from work items?

A board is the container for a project, job, route, department, customer, goal, or other body of work. Work items are the individual tasks inside that board.

What do Backlog, Active, and Complete mean?

They are the default General workflow: Backlog is future work, Active is current work, and Complete is finished work. Industry workspaces can instead use tailored stages such as Reported, Ready, Waiting, Inspection, or Done, and administrators can customize those stages.

Can I use Turnboards with a team?

Yes. Organizations can have multiple users, and you can assign people to boards and individual work items so each person can focus on the work that matters to them.

What is an organization?

An organization keeps boards, users, and work separate. You can use a personal organization for yourself, a work organization for a company, or invited organizations for teams you belong to.

Can I sign in with more than one email?

Yes. Turnboards can show organizations grouped by signed-in email, so you can keep personal, work, and invited organizations separate without constantly signing out.

Does Turnboards work offline?

Yes. Turnboards stores changes locally and queues updates when you are offline. When the app can reconnect, it syncs queued changes.

What are notes for?

Notes are for details that should stay attached to a work item, such as measurements, gate codes, customer details, status updates, follow-up thoughts, or extra context.

Is Turnboards a replacement for Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or Notion?

Not exactly. Those tools are better for large teams that need complex workflows, reporting, integrations, or deep customization. Turnboards is for people who want simpler work lists with less overhead.

How much does Turnboards cost?

Turnboards is currently free to try, with no ads mentioned in the current marketing pages. Pricing may change as the product grows.

Where can I use Turnboards?

Use Turnboards directly in a modern web browser. Optional companion apps are available on the App Store and Google Play for field and offline work.
