Modern project management software is extremely complicated - Turnboards was designed to make things easier. I don't need feature packed, commercial products like Jira, Asana, or Clickup to manage tasks for a project I'm doing in my garage. Unless you are a huge company, you need something easier.
I built turnboards becuase I used to work at a company and we tried all these tools on the engineering team - we ended up using Monday.com in bare bones form, only utilizing a faction of the features. All we needed was a simple task list with the ability to assign work, write notes, and mark statuses.
Turnboards Turnboards is also great for individuals, you don't need to be a company to use Turnboards. Features work the same for one person as they do for 500 people at a company.
An organization can be just you, it can be an entire company, or it can be a department within a company. When you sign up, you'll get your own "Personal" organization. Feel free to invite people, create a new organization, or just do your thing.
Once a set of tasks is complete, the boards is finished, and your goal is complete!
Using Monday.com, I never had a good place to add clarifying or additional thoughts to my task. And I wanted to be able to add another note later, and have it show it a message like format to myself. I'm still experimenting with how notes will work in Turnboards, but right now it works like a bunch of sticky notes for each task. Sometimes a task doesn't go as planned, and I just need a place to write some stuff down and keep it organized. Notes help organize this chaos that would otherwise be in one large text document.
If you have more than one person in your organization, you may want to assign boards and tasks. Someone in your organization may not want to sift through everyone else's task to find what they need to do. So we've made it easy. Each person can see only the tasks they are assigned, and Turnboards remembers where you are so there's no resetting of anything when closing the app. It snaps right back to where you were!
